saturday morning…we got a whole big fat world to see…

I bought this at work tonight…

Paragraphs upon paragraphs have been devoted to both the brilliance of this novel and the film adaptation that’s being released this winter (a platform release, as movies of this type always are). I look forward to immersing myself in its pages and cannot wait to see the film.

Work tonight was busy, busy, busy. I finished zoning (Target speak for straightening) Electronics in 30 minutes after trying like hell to put up all of the reshop (Target speak for items that need to be put up that wind up, via other departments, at Guest Services). I also have to thank the cashier (as it’s the busy season, they send a cashier back to ring guests so those working in Electronics can help guests on the floor) who helped immensely on the CD and book side while I zoned the major sections. They released people by departments; whoever finished first got a $5 giftcard. I won but stayed to help with Seasonal (Christmas section) and C-Run (Sporting Goods and Chemical) reshop. We close at 11PM (holiday hours) and got out of there at about 12:30 this morning – for a Friday that’s not too bad. I just sincerely hope that today is not a clusterfuck. It is Saturday so I’m hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

As I’ve been busy, expect a slight delay on my reviews of INLAND EMPIRE and Tin Man. I will also review Paris, je t’Aime, which should be arriving from Netflix today. I’m not off again until Tuesday but I’ll try my damnedest to get my affairs in order so that I may review them ASAP.

And with that, I’m going to unload and load the dishwasher, unwind a bit while watching the newest episode of The Soup on TiVo, and then go to sleep.
